Sharpay's fabulous world (original title: Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure or High Stakes ) is a direct-to-video film and a spin-off to high school musical . The main role is played by Ashley Tisdale .


Sharpay is discovered during a gig and travels to New York with her dog Boi. There she finds out, however, that she should not be the star in the new Broadway play, but her dog. So she takes on the job of personal assistant to Amber Lee, the show's big star. In this way she hopes to be able to realize her dream of becoming a musical star herself. But Sharpay soon realizes that nothing is developing the way she imagined.

On March 31, 2010, Disney and Ashley Tisdale announced that there would be a movie about Sharpay. On June 8, 2010, the cast was reinforced by Austin Butler and Bradley Steven Perry .

Filming took place from May 25th to July 6th, 2010 in Toronto , Canada .

Ashley Tisdale and Austin Butler were already in front of the camera for the film The Noobs - Small but Mean . Lucas Grabeel also had a guest appearance as Ryan Evans.

The first trailer was shown on American television in November 2010. In Germany, the Disney Channel published the first German trailer on March 18, 2011 on YouTube and a short time later on its homepage. The film itself was shown on November 20, 2011 on ProSieben .


The American TV premiere took place on May 22, 2011 as the Disney Channel Original Movie . The German TV premiere took place on October 22, 2011 as the Disney Channel Original Movie. The free TV premiere took place as part of a Disney Day on November 20, 2011 on ProSieben .

Ashley Tisdale announced that she will sing songs for the film. The soundtrack was first offered digitally in the US on April 19, 2011, and was released on CD on May 17.
