Shin Sang-woo (born December 12, 1987 in Seoul ) is a South Korean ice hockey player who has been under contract with Anyang Halla in the Asia League Ice Hockey since 2015 .
Career
Shin Sang-woo began his career as a hockey player on the Gwang Seon High School team . At the age of 17, he moved to Korea University for four years . There the Anyang Halla , one of the two South Korean teams in the Asia League Ice Hockey, became aware of him. Both in 2010 and 2011 he was able to win the championship with his team. From 2013 to 2015 he played for Daemyung Sangmu , the newly formed third South Korean team in the Asia League Ice Hockey, then he returned to Anyang Halla and was able to win the Asia League title again with the club in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
International
For South Korea, Shin Sang-woo already took part in Division II of the U18 World Cup in 2005 .
For the men's national team he was nominated for the first time in Division I of the 2008 World Cup . Also in 2011 and 2012 Shin represented his country again at the World Championships of Division I. After the promotion by a 3-2 against hosts Poland , here Shin managed the goal to equalize 2-2 at the beginning of the second third, he played with South Korea at the following World Championship in 2013 for the first time in the A group of Division I, where he also competed at the World Championships in 2016 and 2017 , when the East Asians were promoted to the top division for the first time. He played there in 2018 , but couldn't keep relegation with his team.
At the Winter Asian Games 2011 he won the bronze medal with the South Korean team behind Kazakhstan and Japan . At the Winter Asian Games 2017 he finished second with the South Koreans behind Kazakhstan. He also took part with the South Korean team in November 2012 in the qualifying tournament for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi . He also played at the 2018 Winter Olympics in his own country.
