Siedliska ( German  Freythen , 1938 to 1945 Freithen ) is a small village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Gmina Pasym (rural community Passenheim ) in the powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ).

Geographical location

Siedliska is located northeast of the Great Kalbensee ( Jezioro Kalwa in Polish ) in the southern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , 17 kilometers northwest of the district town of Szczytno ( German Ortelsburg ).

history

The former Freythen was an inconspicuous place with several scattered small courtyards. Until 1945 it was a residential area within the town of Passenheim (Polish: Pasym ) in the East Prussian district of Ortelsburg . At the census in 1905 there were 291 inhabitants registered in Freythen. On June 3, 1938 - officially confirmed on July 16 - 1938, the spelling of the name was changed to "Freithen" for political and ideological reasons to prevent place names that appear foreign.

With the whole of southern East Prussia , the place was transferred to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war and received the Polish name form "Siedliska". Today it is a semi-independent village with the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Sołectwo in Polish ) in the association of the urban and rural community Pasym (Passenheim) in the Powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship . In 2011 Siedliska had 130 inhabitants.

church

In terms of the church, Freythen / Freithen was oriented towards the town of Passenheim ( Pasym ) until 1945 , both towards the Protestant church there and towards the Catholic parish . The connection to the city of Pasym with its Protestant parish and also Catholic parish has remained for Siedliska to this day.

traffic

Siedliska is located away from the traffic on a side road that branches off from Landesstraße 53 (former German Reichsstraße 134 ) at Pasym and leads directly into town via Otole (Ottilienhof) . The nearest train station is Pasym on the Olsztyn – Ełk railway line .
