history

Originally Camalwen , called Kuckuckswalde after 1820 , it was founded in 1412. The founding privilege says: Tangible celebrations about the Camalwen estate, alias Kukukswalde. - Grand Master Heinrich von Plauen to the mayor Johann Petzold, his heirs and descendants, for the sake of his faithful service, which he has done and is still to do for our order, thirty hubs, located in the field of Camalwen, freely hereditary and eternally to possess köllmischen rights and to use. We also lend him free fishing in the lake, called Cromowin (later Waldsee) with small tools at the table and not for sale. - Marienburg , Sunday Quasimodogeniti 1412.

The Commander of Elbing ( Elbląg in Polish ) bought the estate from Johann Petzold and in 1448 lent it to the town of Passenheim ( Pasym ). In the 17th century the place was recorded as the noble village of Kukukswalde , because a large part of the land belonged to the neighboring Malschöwen (Polish Małszewko ), which was owned by the Lords of Frankenstein. In 1830 there were 22 Köllmer in the village, and after the separation in 1862 there were 32 farms in Kukukswalde.

Between 1874 and 1945 Kukukswalde was in the District Klein Rauschken (Polish Rusek Mały ) in the East Prussian district Szczytno incorporated. The number of inhabitants was 355 in 1910, 314 in 1933 and 305 in 1939.

When in 1945 as a result of the war, Kukukswalde and all of southern East Prussia were transferred to Poland , the village was given the Polish form of name "Grzegrzółki". Today it is the seat of a Schulzenamt (Polish Sołectwo ) and as such a place in the network of the urban and rural municipality Pasym (Passenheim) in the powiat Szczycieński ( Ortelsburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . In 2011 Grzegrzółki had 163 inhabitants.

church

Until 1945 Kukukswalde was parish in the Protestant Church of Passenheim in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Roman Catholic parish in Passenheim in the then diocese of Warmia .

The reference to the city now called Pasym still exists today: to the evangelical church Pasym , now in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland , as well as to the catholic church of the city, now assigned to the Archdiocese of Warmia .
