The Oppendorf settlement is a settlement in Kiel . It forms neither its own local district nor an official district , but belongs to Neumühlen-Dietrichsdorf . Oppendorf is included in this group due to its location north of the Schwentine , although it is not directly adjacent to it. Today around 1700 inhabitants live in this settlement. In the townscape it merges with the Anschützsiedlung, which belongs to Schönkirchen and was laid out as a factory settlement for the Anschützwerke .

history

The Oppendorf settlement was laid out in the 1920s as a housing estate for families with low incomes who could provide for themselves with a garden. In 1924 it was incorporated into Kiel together with Neumühlen-Dietrichsdorf.

Neighboring districts

Oppendorf borders the Kiel district of Wellingdorf , from which it is separated by the Schwentine, as well as the city of Schwentinental and the community of Schönkirchen .
