history
The place was first mentioned in the Würzburger Lehenbuch from 1303 as "Sigmarsdorf". The defining word of the place name is Sigmar, the personal name of the place founder. At this time, the forms “Sygemarsdorf” and “Symarsdorf” are attested. In 1303 the sons of Konrad Küchmeister von Bamberg were recorded as the owners of the tithe, in the fief book of 1313 Ulrich Truchseß von Nainsdorf was listed as the owner of the hay tenth. In 1327, the Bamberg Katharinenspital received two estates and a mill from Heinrich Suttner. In the margravial fief book, which was created in the middle of the 15th century, two properties and a fishing water were given as fiefdoms in the place.
At the end of the 18th century there were 26 properties in Simmersdorf. The high court exercised the Bamberg center Wachenroth . The village and community rulership was held jointly by the Schönborn rule of Pommersfelden and the manor Mühlhausen . The landlords were the Kastenamt Wachenroth ( Theodorische Verwaltung : 1 Sölde ), the administration Sambach of the University of Bamberg (1 drip house ), the Brandenburg-Bayreuth administration Uehlfeld (1 estate, 1 drip house), the Pommersfelden lordship (3 courtyards, 2 estates, 1 inn , 1 third yard, 5 Sölden, 1 drip house), the manor Mühlhausen (4 estates), the Katharinenspital Bamberg (1 mill, 2 Sölden), the parish Mühlhausen (1 Sölde). Congregational buildings were a shepherd's house and drip house.
As part of the community edict, Simmersdorf was assigned to the Mühlhausen tax district formed in 1808 . In the same year the rural community Mühlhausen was formed, to which the place belonged. In 1818 Simmersdorf was reassigned to Wachenroth , which was reversed in 1824.
