Horbach is a district of the Wachenroth market in the Erlangen-Höchstadt district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village is located on the south bank of the Reichen Ebrach across from Simmersdorf and is directly surrounded by arable land and grassland.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1174 in a document from the St. Theodor monastery . The deed stated that the monastery had received two goods from Conrad von Scheinfeld. Further fiefs were the chefs from Bamberg, attested since 1317 , the Truchseß von Pommersfelden , who were wealthy in the village from the 14th century, and the lords von Egloffstein .

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 14 properties and a community shepherd's house in Horbach. The high court exercised the Bamberg center Wachenroth . The village and community rulership was held jointly by the Brandenburg-Bayreuth caste and jurisdiction office in Dachsbach and the Schönborn rule in Pommersfelden . The landlords were the Kastenamt Wachenroth (1 Sölde ), the Brandenburg-Bayreuth administration Uehlfeld (4 estates, 1 drip house ), the Pommersfelden lordship (3 estates, 4 Sölden) and the Nuremberg owner Stromer (1 estate).

As part of the community edict , Horbach was assigned to the Schirnsdorf tax district, formed in 1808 . In the same year the rural community Schirnsdorf was formed, to which the place belonged. 9 properties were subject to the voluntary jurisdiction of the Pommersfelden Patrimonial Court (until 1848).

On July 1, 1974, Horbach was incorporated into the Wachenroth market as part of the regional reform .
