Siror (during the Habsburg Empire : Siraur ) is a fraction of the municipality ( comune ) Primiero San Martino di Castrozza and was an independent municipality in Trentino in the Trentino-South Tyrol region until 2015 .
geography
Siror is located about 56 kilometers east-northeast of Trento on Parco Naturale Paneveggio - Pale di San Martino and on the Cismon river at an altitude of 765 mslm. The place belongs to the Comunità di Primiero . Part of the Lago di Calaita is located in the former municipal area.
history
On January 1, 2016, Siror merged with the municipalities of Fiera di Primiero , Tonadico and Transacqua to form the new municipality of Primiero San Martino di Castrozza. The districts of Nolesca, Passo Rolle and San Martino di Castrozza belonged to the municipality of Siror . Neighboring municipalities were Canale d'Agordo in the province of Belluno ( Veneto ) and the Trentino municipalities Canal San Bovo , Imer , Mezzano , Predazzo , Tonadico and Transacqua.
Parish partnership
Siror maintains a partnership with the Tyrolean community of Schönberg in the Stubai Valley (Austria).
