The 2016/17 season was the sixteenth season of the European Skeleton Cup , which is organized and held by the IBSF . Together with the Intercontinental Cup 2016/17 and the North American Cup 2016/17, this racing series is part of the substructure of the World Cup 2018/19 . The results of the eight races of the season at five competition locations were included in the IBSF Skeleton Ranking 2016/17 .

The 2016/17 European Skeleton Cup was dominated by the German skeleton riders. With the exception of the men's race in Sigulda , where “only” one German stood on the podium, all European Cup races were won by German athletes. In the women's category, the German Tamara Seer , who switched from bobsleigh to skeleton in the 2015/16 season, secured the overall victory in front of her teammates Maxi Just and Kellie Delka from the United States . Dominic Rady secured overall victory in the men’s race . In every race he started, Rady was able to finish on the podium. Last year's winner Fabian Küchler took second place and Felix Seibel made the German three-time success in the overall ranking of the European Cup perfect.
