Sound Aspects is a German record label . The independent label was founded by Pedro de Freitas in the early 1980s and published music by a number of predominantly American artists who can be assigned to creative jazz .

The first album was the 1983 LP "The East Side Suite" by the John Lindberg Trio. This was followed by albums by Faruq Z. Bey , Anthony Braxton , Marty Ehrlich , Kahil El'Zabar , Gerry Hemingway , Robin Holcomb , Wayne Horvitz , Steve Lacy , Butch Morris , Bobby Previte and Paul Smoker . From the end of the 1980s, albums by European musicians from the creative jazz and improvisation scene were increasingly released, such as B. Georg Graewe , Ernst Reijseger , Reiner Winterschladen , Andreas Willers or Fritz Hauser .

After 1992 the label stopped its production activities; Sound aspects disappeared from the scene. What has remained are published audio documents from the period of change between the end of the free jazz era and the beginning of the Knitting Factory generation.
