checking account

In February 2015, Der Tagesspiegel criticized the fact that Sparda-Bank Berlin had introduced various fees despite its advertising for a “free current account ”. For example, fees of 7.50 euros per year were charged for the Bankcard, a second account cost an additional 10 euros per year, and each paper transfer 1.50 euros. In 2017, the bank advertised a "current account without an account management fee"; the bank card costs 12 euros a year. Account management fees were introduced with effect from October 1, 2017: 3.90 € / month for account management in the branch and 1.50 € / month for account management online.

As of August 1, 2020, account management fees will be standardized and increased so that there will only be "DeinKonto" for € 3.90 / month. At the same time, a bonus program "SpardaVorteil" will be introduced, with which the fees can be reduced by using other bank services.
