Furnishing

Wall painting

During a restoration in 1907 , the Oldenburg painter Wilhelm Morisse found two frescoes in the soaring, busted ribbed vaults , "which he added according to his own ideas." The coronation of Mary is depicted in the vault above the altar and the Last Judgment in the one above the pulpit . Both date from the 15th century. On the wall to the left of the altar, the outlines of a sacrament box and an apostolic cross were exposed. The tendrils on the vault ribs were restored according to the original patterns.

altar

The retable of the Passion Altar from around 1520/25 is "a good job by a student from the workshop of the master of Osnabrück". In the center it shows the crucifixion scene on Calvary , on the left Christ before Pilate , his fall under the cross and on the right the burial and resurrection . The wings and the apostles like Anna herself in the predella are copies of the originals that are in the State Museum in Oldenburg . Lothar Bühmer created it from 1999–2002. The left wing shows the Last Supper, the Judas kiss , Christ before Pontius Pilate and the flagellation and on the right wing the Ascension of Jesus , Pentecost , the Dormition of Mary and the last judgment .

pulpit

The pulpit was made in 1653 by master Tönnies Mahler from Leer after inspection of the Münstermann pulpit in Apen . The virtues of faith, hope, love and justice can be found in the arched niches on the stairs. The apostles Peter, Andrew, James the Younger and John are carved between them on the stairs and the evangelists Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and the apostle Paul in the form of herms on the pulpit. The Annunciation , the birth of Jesus, the circumcision of Jesus and the adoration of the Three Kings are depicted in the arched niches on the pulpit . The 52.7 verse from Isaiah can also be read on the stairs and the pulpit: HOW LOVELY ARE THE MOUNTAINS, THE FOOT OF THE BOTHES THAT PRONOUNCE PEACE, PREDICATE SALVATION. And on the cover it reads: VERBUM DOMINI MANET IN AETERNUM - God's word remains in eternity. At the pulpit basket the house brand of the pastor and the initials MGG and is Juraten Dirk Fitje, Oltman Rodlie and Claus Deye attached. The pulpit cost 128 Reichsthalers.

baptism

The baptism probably also came from Master Tönnies Mahler. It is decorated on the shaft with herms and otherwise with acanthus tendrils , cherubim and lion heads. On the lid you can read: ANNO 1656 / ESA 12: YOU WILL DRAW WATER FROM THE HEALING FOUNTAIN WITH FREWDEN.

organ

The first organ with ten voices was supplied by Christian Vater (Hanover) in 1718 , a former journeyman of Arp Schnitger . In 1757 she got a pedal with six registers from JH Klapmeyer (Oldenburg) . In 1861 the organ builder Schmid II (Oldenburg) replaced the organ and its prospectus . The present organ was built by the Hillebrand brothers GmbH Orgelbau (Isernhagen near Hanover). It has two manuals and a pedal with 14 registers.

Bells

There are two bells in the wooden tower . One from 1777, because it had a crack, was cast in 1804 by the bell caster Alexius Petit from Vechta and the other was cast in 1483 for the St. Mary's Church in Stolp , Pomerania .
