The stately hall church , covered with a gable roof , was built in 1595 using parts of the previous building mentioned in 1279. She has a tripartite degree in the east. The portal in the south has overstaves. The choir has tracery windows . After a fire in 1650, the church was rebuilt and expanded. It was changed in the 19th century. The church tower in the west has keel- arched windows. He is covered with a slate-covered , pointed, eight-sided helmet . In the north there is a two-flight, stone, covered staircase with wooden beams from 1618. Its parapets are designed as balusters .

The interior of the nave is covered with a coffered , broken barrel vault. The lower of the two-story galleries has a heavily profiled entablature. The pillars of their parapets are decorated with fittings . The parapets of the upper galleries are painted. The windows in the choir are framed by remains of scroll painting. The baroque pulpit altar has figures of Moses and John the Baptist . There are putti above the side passages and angels on the cover . A double epitaph for Colonel Melchior von Schorbrant and his wife is made of colored stone to the left of the altar. Both are shown life-size between pilasters with fittings, the extract shows the burial and the resurrection of Jesus Christ . There are tombstones from the 16th century in the floor .

The organ with 20 registers , distributed over two manuals and pedal , was built in 1907 by Wilhelm Sauer in the prospectus of an older organ from 1802 and restored in 2007 by Orgelbau Schönefeld from Stadtilm. The church was restored from 1995.
