Building history

The previous building, which was elevated to a parish church in 1794 and was previously located in today's cemetery in Pesch, was demolished in the 19th century due to its poor condition. Only the sacristy attached to the church in 1767 remained. It has served as a cemetery chapel since the demolition.

In 1844 the construction of the new church began. This was no longer done in the cemetery, but in the center of the village. In 1846 the first service was celebrated in the new parish church, and it was consecrated on August 10, 1867 by the Archbishop of Cologne, Paulus Melchers .

The church is not oriented strictly to the east, but to the east-northeast. The quarry stone hall building with three window axes has a choir adjoining the nave in the east ( five-eighth end ) and a west tower. A sacristy is attached to the choir in the east. The church has 95 seats and 70 standing places.

Furnishing

The high altar dates from the 18th century.

In the church there are two side altars, the Mother of God Altar and the Joseph Altar.
