The essentially Romanesque hall church with a three-sided closure in the east was built around 1434. The portal in the west is decorated with a frieze made of plaited ribbon . The church was rebuilt in the 15th and 17th centuries. On the exterior are several Ochsenaugen walled, consisting of grave stones of the Renaissance were cut. In the west, the arched, coupled windows bear the year 1575. In the south there is a half-timbered house with a turret from 1696, which serves as a bell house. The church was restored in 1902 . The spacious hall with a barrel vault has two-story galleries . Its parapets are painted with scenes from the Old and New Testaments, at the bottom from the end of the 17th century, at the top they are dated 1712. They were restored in 1883, 1902 and 1978. The neo-Gothic high altar bears an altarpiece of Christ as a gardener , painted by Carl Gottfried Pfannschmidt in 1883 . The staircase and the gate of the stone pulpit from 1609 are decorated with fittings from 1691. The parapet is painted with Jacob's dream and the parable of the prodigal son . On the pulpit is a relief with figures of Christ and the evangelists . The baptismal font is from the 17th century, the stone offering box is from 1571. The bells were cast by the Erfurt bell caster Eckhart Kucher in 1562 and by Jacob König in 1648.

The organ with 26 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built by Ernst Siegfried Hesse in 1830 and restored by Jörg Dutschke in 2012.
