The parish Kölleda belongs to the parish Kölleda-Ostramondra in the parish of Eisleben-Sömmerda of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

The basilica without a transept was built before the monastery was founded. In 1266, a new monastery church was built in place of the Peter and Paul Church, which had become too small. In 1462 a church tower was added to the west. The two side aisles were removed in 1626 except for the sacristy on the south side of the choir . In 1825-28 the tower was given a new roof. In 1965–66 the entire building was fundamentally repaired.

Building description

Today's hall church is covered with a gable roof. On the long sides of the nave , the bricked-up pointed arcades that separated the central nave from the side aisles are visible. The arched upper aisles are arranged above it . The walling of the arcades inside is set back so that the pillars and arches protrude from the wall surface. Three of the four pairs of pillars have a square cross-section, the fourth in the west an octagonal cross-section. The east side of the choir and aisles were originally flat and closed by pilaster strips , with a cornice on the windowsill at the bottom and an arched frieze above . Above the eastern arched window of the choir is a diamond-shaped, internally walled window. On the tower sits an eight-sided bulbous dome , which carries an open lantern in which two bells hang. The pillars of the arcades have fluted fighters . On the pointed triumphal arch the warriors consist of a plate, throat and bulges. The almost square choir has a groined vault from the construction period . It has profiled, colored ridges and a rose-like keystone . The north side of the choir, opposite the sacristy, was originally opened to the side aisle through a large pointed arch. From the old church furnishings there is a polychrome picture of a Pietà from the 1st half of the 15th century. There is also a figural tombstone for Helene von Beichlingen .

The organ with 6 registers , divided into a manual and a pedal , was built in 1969 by Friedrich Löbling.
