Ceiling painting

The former dean church remained even after the Reformation until 1803 under the patronage of Collegiate St. Mary of the Erfurt Cathedral . According to the inscription on the south side, the large hall church with a polygonal end in the east and a steeple in the north was built in 1688 instead of a previous building. The unadorned plastered facade has arched windows and portals . The stone-sighted annex in the west, in which the stairway to the galleries is located, was added during the extensive restoration in 1839. The nave has three sides, three-story galleries, 1839 in part or as the columns formed supports were completely renewed. On the lower galleries there are transverse octagonal panels with Bible scenes and biblical quotations that were taken over from the original galleries. The ceiling painting from 1897 of the flattened wooden barrel vault shows the transfiguration of Christ in the polygon in the east. The pulpit altar dates from the time the church was built, with a staggered architectural structure and winding columns on the prospectus and pulpit. Above the pulpit is a relief with the Last Supper and a crucifix . In the excerpt there is a painting that depicts the resurrection of Jesus Christ . A round wooden baptismal font dates from 1839. The former sacristy is located on the groin -vaulted ground floor of the tower . There is a heavily soiled epitaph with a painting of the crucifixion from the 17th century.

The first organ was built in 1839. In 1896, a new organ with 26 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was installed by Georg Kiesling & Sons in the old prospectus, which was decorated in small pieces .
