history

The oldest part of the church is the tower from 1548. The nave was built between 1850 and 1852. In 1935 the tower was expanded.

Church building

The church building, a single-nave hall structure, is divided into the nave and a five-sided polygonal choir in the east. The church tower with a pointed helmet is attached to the northeast corner of the nave . The church is entered in the west through a round arched portal , which is reached via a double flight of stairs . There is a rose window above the entrance portal in the west facade , which is flanked by two small arched windows. Another of these arched windows is placed above the rose window. There are three larger arched windows in each of the side walls of the nave. The choir room also has two arched windows.

Furnishing

Inside the church, church painter Alfred Gottwald ( Bonn ) put paintings on the wall to the choir in 1937 . They show scenes from the life of the church patrons St. Stephanus and St. Hubertus. On the left the stoning of St. Stephen can be seen, on the right a Hubertus scene. Also of Gottwald originating Christ the King - mosaic in the choir on the altar and on wooden panels in oil painted stations of the cross .

The windows , with the exception of the two choir windows, were made by Peter Gitzinger ( Munich ).
