The Finnish state road 16 ( Finnish Valtatie 16 , Swedish Riksväg 16 ) leads from Ylistaro west of Seinäjoki to Kyyjärvi . The road is 106 kilometers long.

Route

The street in Ylistaro
The street in Alajärvi

The 16 branches off in Ylistaro from the 18 coming from Vaasa and heads east via Lapua , where it crosses the 19 , and past Alajärvi to Kyyijärvi. There it ends at 13 .

Roads 16 , 77 and 9 running one behind the other in east-west direction form a cross passage through Finland and are part of the Blue Route from Norway to Russia. Plans call for the 16 to be extended to the east by upgrading the 182 km long 77 to the state road.
