Service & tariff system

Stadtverkehr Euskirchen is a member of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg (VRS), d. In other words, the VRS network tariff or the NRW tariff and the Euregio ticket apply across the network .

The SVE operates a modern customer center opposite the ZOB , the service center treffpunkt SVE . The tickets can be purchased directly from the driver. In addition, stationary machines are set up at the larger stops.

Vehicle fleet

The vehicle fleet initially consisted of 11-m midibuses and a 12-m standard bus of the Neoplan N 4011 and N 4416 models from SVE.

In the meantime, only vehicles from the two contractors RVK and Laschke-Reisen are used. On August 1, 2008, the mileage was restructured on the basis of the local transport plan approved by the city in December 2007. Since then, the RVK has operated all so-called core lines, ie lines 860, 870 and 871–875 for inner-city traffic. The Laschke company runs the so-called supplementary lines 869, 876, 877, 878 and that of the student lines 861–866 (see also line overview). For this restructured city traffic, RVK purchased 17 new Mercedes-Benz O530K and O530 of the second generation, which are painted in the SVE (yellow / blue) driving pattern. In addition, a Lion's City from RVK, also in SVE colors, is used. The RVK's Neoplan was last used on July 31, 2008. The Laschke company continues to use the last remaining Neoplan city bus, the 12 m standard bus (mainly on the school routes and on route 869).

history

On June 3, 1996, SVE, founded in November 1995, began its inner-city regular service with five buses on lines 871 and 872 every 30 minutes , which until then had been served by the Laschke company. In addition, a collective call taxi system was introduced. In 1997, the network was expanded to include lines 873, 874 and 875 every 30 minutes, and the first two lines were converted to 15-minute intervals. Lines 877 and 878 were set up in 1996 and line 876 in 1997. Lines 873 to 875 were switched to a 15-minute cycle, corresponding to lines 871 and 872. In addition to the 15 existing city buses, six identical vehicles were used from August 1998 and six school transport routes 861 to 866 were set up.

After a majority change in the city council in 1999, a "service optimization" was carried out in September 2002: The 15-minute intervals on the main lines 871-875 were reduced to 20 minutes. As a result, there was a cheap connection to the train service at the station only once an hour. The next offer was thinned out in June 2006: Monday to Friday the 20-minute cycle ended an hour earlier (at 6 p.m.) and the service continued every 30 minutes. The 30-minute cycle (until 2 p.m.) was canceled on Saturdays, and since then buses have only run every hour on Saturdays. In addition, AST traffic was discontinued after 9 p.m. Since December 11, 2006, the main lines 871–875 have only offered a 20-minute cycle from 6:05 am to 8:45 am and 11:45 am to 1:45 pm. At the other times, a bus only runs every half hour. Lines 877 and 878 (previously every hour) only run during rush hour as a supplement to the existing RVK regional lines. In early morning traffic, there were no first trips Monday to Saturday. There is also a late offer on Fridays and before public holidays. The inner city is served with the 860 ring line, which serves 2 branches. A branch runs from the train station via the vocational college and Marienhospital area back to the train station (this will partially replace lines 871 "Südstadt" and 872 "Theodor-Körner-Straße"). The other branch goes back to the train station via the Kreishaus and Rüdesheimer Ring area (this will replace lines 871 "Memelstraße", 872 "Nordstadt" and also parts of line 872 "Theodor-Körner-Straße"). Both branches are driven every 60 minutes. For external traffic, the ring line 870 takes over the task, which runs clockwise from the station via Wüschheim, Großbüllesheim, Kleinbüllesheim (line 875), Weidesheim (line 876), Kuchenheim, Palmersheim, Flamersheim, Kirchheim (line 874), Niederkastenholz, Stotzheim, Roitzheim ( Line 873) goes back to the train station. A bus drives the ring in the opposite direction with a 30-minute delay. In the summer months, the line also goes to the Steinbachtalsperre. Both directions are served every 60 minutes. The race is between 10:05 p.m. and 1:05 a.m. These two ring lines also take over traffic on Saturdays after lines 871-875 close from 9.10 p.m. and run every hour until 01.05 a.m. On Sundays and public holidays, service is exclusively via the ring lines every 60 minutes between 09:05 and 19:05. In addition, in the summer months, this line is operated every 2 hours in each direction, even during the day on Saturdays, in addition to lines 873–875.

Today the network consists of eleven lines, on which over 4.8 million passengers were carried in 2006. The annual number of passengers rose from 600,000 in the short operating year 1996 to 4.8 million in 2006.

With the timetable change in December 2012, the offer was again greatly expanded and Monday-Friday the continuous 20-minute cycle set in 2006 was restored on the core lines (until 7 p.m.). In addition, the existing 30-minute cycle between 7 p.m. and 8.45 p.m. has been changed to a 60-minute cycle and service times have been extended (last journey instead of 8.45 p.m. now 10:05 p.m.). In addition, operations on the 5 core lines start 30 minutes earlier in the morning, so that the early journeys on lines 860 and 870 that were previously offered are no longer available. Line 873 now usually only runs to Stotzheim, some trips go via Stotzheim to Niederkastenholz, some of them continue via Flamersheim to Schweinheim or, in the summer months, via Kirchheim to the Steinbachtalsperre (only Mon-Fri). Line 875 always runs via Großbüllesheim to Wünschheim and the routes of lines 871 and 872 have been standardized (as was the case before the thinning of the range in 2006).
