location

Neighboring towns of Großbüllesheim are the districts of Kleinbüllesheim in the south and Wüschheim in the west. The two rivers Erftmühlenbach and Das Untere Ahrflüsschen converge on the outskirts near the castle . In the east lies the largest industrial area in Euskirchen, the Am Silberberg industrial park , also called IPAS , which was called Großbüllesheim-Wüschheim before it was renamed . There is a park between the IPAS and the actual place of residence. Adjacent to this in the north is the Wüschheim-Büllesheim campus sports facility with a large sports field, a lawn and the gym, which is often used by the elementary school.

history

Großbüllesheim was first mentioned in 856 as Bullengesheym , which is probably derived from the Franconian name Bulleng . Until the end of the 18th century, Großbüllesheim was under Euskirchen administrative administration, during the French occupation it was assigned to the Mairie Kuchenheim, Canton Rheinbach. Then the Rhineland became part of the Kingdom of Prussia, whereby the Prussians retained the French administrative division so that Großbüllesheim continued to belong to the mayor's office in Kuchenheim, Rheinbach district. With the dissolution of the Rheinbach district on October 1, 1932, the mayorry of Kuchenheim became part of the Euskirchen district.

In the south there are two farmsteads, which were created through the division of inheritance from the former farm and represent the remains of the Großbüllesheim castle . Before that, in the 14th century, the Spies von Büllesheim were resident.

On July 1, 1969, Großbüllesheim was incorporated into Euskirchen.
