Location of Euenheim in Euskirchen

Euenheim ( dialect : Euem ) is a district of Euskirchen and is located in the west of the city on the B 56 and B 266 . The Veybach runs along the southern edge . At the beginning of 2000 the L 178 was relocated to the west as a bypass . Relocation of the B 56 is planned.

history

Euenheim was first mentioned in a document in 922 and was then under the Siegburg Abbey . From 1794 it belonged together with Dürscheven , Frauenberg and Oberwichterich to the municipality of Frauenberg, which until 1798 belonged to the canton Rheinbach , then to the newly founded canton Zülpich . On July 1, 1969, Euenheim became a district of Euskirchen with the simultaneous dissolution of the Frauenberg office. The name Euenheim is derived either from Aue or Schaf ( Ouwe ).
