Rheder has belonged to the municipality of Weingarten-Rheder in the Euskirchen district since the 19th century , which was renamed Kreuzweingarten-Rheder in 1934. On July 1, 1969, the municipality of Kreuzweingarten-Rheder was incorporated into Euskirchen.
