In Elsig, the streets have been named after marine animals since 1969 as part of the theming of the street names in Euskirchen .

traffic

The Rurtalbus buses from the Düren district take the 298 route from Düren to Euskirchen through the town. Strangely enough, Elsig never had a train stop - despite a gatekeeper's hut - although the Düren - Euskirchen ( Bördebahn ) line runs through the town. In the future, when the Bördebahn is reactivated, it is planned that Elsig will get a stop.
