The stack storage mountain is a 365.2  m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Stapelager mountains of the Teutoburg Forest . It is located near Hörste in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Lippe .

The mountain consists of limestone and is predominantly forested with beeches .

The Stapelager Berg rises in the northwest of the Stapelager Mountains in the Teutoburg Forest / Eggegebirge Nature Park . Its summit is 7.6 km southwest of the core town of Lage , 2.2 km southwest of the Hörste camp district , in whose area the mountain is located, 3.2 km north-northwest of the Augustdorf municipality and 5.4 km northeast of Stukenbrock , a district from Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock .

To the northwest lies the Stapelager Gorge and beyond it the Hunneckenkammer ( 325.7  m ) and southeast of the Hermannsberg ( 364.6  m ).

The rivers on the Stapelager Berg include the Massiekbach , a tributary of the Stapelager Bach , which rises on the northern slope and feeds the Hörster Bach , which springs from the northeast slope ; The latter flows into the tributary of the Rethlager Bach, also called Hörster Bach . Protected areas

Parts of the nature reserve Eastern Teutoburg Forest ( CDDA no. 329562; designated 2004; 23.1953  km² in size), the Fauna-Flora-Habitat- Area Eastern Teutoburg Forest (FFH-No. 4017-301; 53, 0359 km²) and the Senne bird sanctuary with the Teutoburg Forest (VSG no. 4118-401; 153.5968 km²). Parts of the landscape protection area Teutoburg Forest with Lippisches Wald, Osning-Kamm and eastern Osning-Vorland extend to the lower area of ​​the north flank and to the west foot (CDDA no. 555553234; 2006; 14.5165 km²).

Transport links and hiking

The district road  11 runs north past the Stapelager Berg between Währentrup and Hörste . The Hermannsweg runs north-east, the 2.6 km long literary hiking trail Lage-Hörste to the northeast and the 20 km long Augustdorfer Rundwanderweg and the Lönspfad to the south-west .
