Stefan Adam (born February 12, 1973 in Dortmund ) is a German handball and ice hockey functional and former handball player.
Stefan Adam studied law until his first state examination. He started his career at OSC Dortmund . Between 1992 and 2003 he was active in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga for the OSC as well as the HSG Dortmund, the TSV Bayer Dormagen , the HSG Düsseldorf and the LTV Wuppertal . At the same time, in 2002 he became managing director and partner of the Wuppertal Handball Marketing GmbH of LTV Wuppertal. After the merger of LTV with SG Solingen , he filled the same positions at the newly founded Bergischer HC from 2006 . Thanks to his professional commitment to the BHC, which, in addition to its promotion to the German elite league, also brought the club numerous liquid sponsors, Adam has achieved national recognition and attracted the interest of various clubs.
In September 2012 he announced that he would switch to the German record champions THW Kiel in the 1st Bundesliga . His successor at Bergischer HC was Jörg Föste , who had previously worked as a marketing expert and spokesman for the advisory board since the club was founded. Adam had been working in Kiel since January 24, 2013. On August 19, 2013, the amicable separation of Adam and the THW was announced, which was justified with different views "regarding the future course of the THW Kiel". Since July 1, 2014 he has been the managing director of HC Erlangen . On August 1, 2016, he moved to the supervisory board of HC Erlangen and at the same time became managing director of Düsseldorfer EG from the German ice hockey league .
In addition, Adam has been a member of the executive committee of the DKB-Handball-Bundesliga since July 2009 and has been a member of the supervisory board of multiple German basketball champions Brose Bamberg since August 2006 . In 2008, among other things, he was involved in the planning for the single-track 2nd handball Bundesliga , which was decided in early 2009.
