Marco Nowak (born July 23, 1990 in Dresden ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Düsseldorfer EG in the German ice hockey league since 2016 and plays for them in the position of defender .
Career
Nowak learned to skate in Dresden and then played in the youth team of ETC Crimmitschau , for whose junior team he was on the ice for the first time in the junior Bundesliga in the 2005/06 season. In the 2006/07 season he played for the Jungadler Mannheim in the DNL . After a good season with the DNL record champions, the DEG Metro Stars noticed him and Nowak moved to the German ice hockey league for the 2007/08 season , but was initially used by the junior team, the DEG Youngsters in the DNL and the regional league before his was allowed to complete first assignments in the DEL.
For the 2008/09 season and 2009/10 season Nowak was given a license for the ETC Crimmitschau . After five years for the DEG Metro Stars , Nowak moved to the Nürnberg Ice Tigers for the 2012/13 season . On January 21, 2014, the Ice Tigers announced Nowak's contract extension for another year.
After four years in Nuremberg, Nowak returned to DEG for the 2016/17 season. On December 21, 2018 he completed his 500th DEL game in the 4-2 away win of his team at the Krefeld Pinguinen and contributed two assists in this game .
International
Internationally, Nowak was for the first time at the U18 World Cup in Russia in 2008 in the squad of the German U18 junior national team. From 2008 he was a regular player in the German U20 team and took part in the U20 Junior World Championship in the top division in 2009 and the U20 Junior World Championship in Division I in 2010 .
