Chad Nehring (born June 14, 1987 in Springside , Saskatchewan ) is a German - Canadian ice hockey player . He has been under contract with the Düsseldorfer EG since 2019 .

career

Nehring, whose paternal grandfather was born in Germany , won the championship title in the junior league SJHL with the Yorkton Terriers in 2005 and 2006 . In 2007 he began studying at Lake Superior State University in the US state of Michigan and was a member of the college's ice hockey team until 2011.

In spring 2011 he made his debut as a professional ice hockey player with the Idaho Steelheads in the North American ECHL . In the following years he played for several teams in the ECHL as well as in the AHL and the CHL .

In July 2017 Nehring moved to the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven in the German Ice Hockey League . After scoring 16 goals in the 2018/19 game year and doing the preparatory work for 33 others, he accepted an offer from the DEL competitor Düsseldorfer EG in April 2019 .
