Stefan Mann (born June 2, 1975 in Weißwasser ) is a German ice hockey player and coach.

Career

Mann began his career at ES Weißwasser , where he was part of the professional squad from the 1992/93 season . After another season in Weißwasser, in which he completed 47 games and scored 13 points , he moved to the Kölner Haien in the summer of 1994. With the Haien, he became German champions in his first season in 1994/95 after a play-off final win against EV Landshut . He was also used in the European Hockey League , in which the Haie took part in 1996/97 . After his contract was not renewed at the end of the 1996/97 season , he moved to the Erding Jets .

This was followed by a year at his home club, ES Weißwasser, before he moved again to the German Ice Hockey League in the 1999/00 season. There he went on the ice for the Nürnberg Ice Tigers , with whom he secured relegation in the relegation round. In the summer of 2001 he signed a contract with league rivals Frankfurt Lions . With the club from Frankfurt am Main he reached tenth place after the main round and thus missed the qualification for the play-offs. Since he hardly scored any points with the Lions, he was not given a new contract. Finally he joined the SC Bietigheim-Bissingen , which he left again after only one year.

He came to SC Riessersee in 2003 via the Heilbronner EC in the 2002/03 season . For the SCR he went on the ice in 21 games, as the club filed for bankruptcy a little later and stopped playing in the 2nd Bundesliga. Mann left the club and switched back to SC Bietigheim-Bissingen. There he ended the current 2003/04 season . He scored 33 times in 44 games, making him one of the best scorers on his team.

In 2004 those responsible for the Straubing Tigers signed him. With the Tigers, the striker reached his career high point so far and was the best German player on his team and the fourth best overall in the 2004/05 season with 56 points in 45 main round games. Only Norman Batherson , Niklas Hede and Trevor Gallant were able to score more points for the Tigers this season. At the end of the 2005/06 season he rose to the DEL with the Straubing Tigers. During the following 2006/07 season he left the Tigers after 37 games and ended the season at SC Bietigheim-Bissingen.

For the 2007/08 season he signed a contract with the Augsburg Panthers , for which he completed 55 games and completed 22 scorer points. In summer 2008 he left Germany for the first time in his career. The management of the Swedish second division team Mora IK signed the then 33-year-old for a year.

For the 2009/10 season he signed a contract with the Dresdner Eislöwen and was the team's captain. In January 2010 he was released. A few days later, Mann signed a contract with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers until October . After this contract expired, Mann moved to the upper league at ECC Preussen Juniors Berlin , where he said he wanted to “keep fit” in a local Berlin press, in order to possibly sign another contract as a professional athlete. However, after the local coach Karel Slanina was dismissed, he moved to the coaching bench to be active as a player-coach.

In December 2015, the Lausitzer Füchse signed Stefan Mann as a part-time professional until the end of the current season.
