Stefanie Hofmann

Stefanie Hofmann (born July 7, 1983 in Hof an der Saale ) is a German flautist and music teacher .

Career

Stefanie Hofmann was born the daughter of a music school director and a subject teacher and grew up with her twin sister Franziska in Rehau . She got her first flute at the age of nine, her first piano lessons a year later, and from 1997 to 2003 she took flute lessons from Gunther Pohl .

She attended the Jean-Paul-Gymnasium Hof , where she graduated from high school in 2003 . While still at school she was a member of the special class of the Hofer Symphoniker's music school (2000 to 2003) and took piano lessons from Wolfgang Döberlein (2001 to 2003) and singing lessons from Anneliese Mayer-Adam (2001 to 2003).

In autumn 2003 she began her studies in the departments “General Artistic Education” and “Music Education” at the Lübeck University of Music with Angela Firkins , which she completed in summer 2007 with a diploma in “Music Education”. She then completed an exchange year at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Hansgeorg Schmeiser as part of the Erasmus program , to which she completed a regular course of study at Schmeiser. In 2009 she finally graduated from the Lübeck University of Music in the subject of "General Artistic Education".

Between 2001 and 2009, Hofmann took part in several master classes among others, Andrea Lieberknecht , Anette Maiburg , Michael Martin Kofler , Jeanne Baxtresser , Pierre-Yves Artaud , Renate Greiss-Armin , Paul Meisen and Angelika Prokopp under the Angelika Prokopp Summer Academy of Vienna Philharmonic , where she also did audition training with Walter Auer . For this she received a grant from the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation “Live Music Now” . In 2001 she attended the Bavarian Chamber Music Course, in 2002 the German Chamber Music Course and in 2006 the International Summer Academy for Chamber Music Lower Saxony .

In the 2005/2006 season she completed an internship in the orchestral studio of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck , played in the youth orchestra of the European Union in 2006 and helped out in the orchestra of the Vienna Volksoper in the 2009/2010 season .

Hofmann was a member of the Bavarian State Youth Orchestra from 1999 to 2001 , of the Federal Youth Orchestra from 2001 to 2004 and of the Ossiach Orchestra Academy from 2009 to 2013 .

Stefanie Hofmann has been a member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie since 2005 .

Solo appearances have taken Hofmann to Brussels and in 2003 with the Classical Philharmonic Bonn under their musical director Heribert Beissel at the Bir Miftuh Music Festival in Malta .

With her sister and the pianist Marie-Luise Klein , with whom they had already attended the Jean-Paul-Gymnasium Hof ​​together, she has developed an extensive repertoire of trio literature, which the three musicians perform as a “twin trio”.

Hofmann lives in Wiesbaden , has been teaching the piccolo flute at the Piccolo music school in Idstein since September 2015 and is also a freelance music teacher.
