The Morkepütz quarry nature reserve is located in the town of Wiehl in the Oberbergisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The approximately 11.1 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1985 , extends north of the center of Wiehl. The state road L 341 runs along the southern edge and the Alpebach flows. The A 4 runs north . Morkepütz , a village in the city of Wiehl, is not far north of the area.
