The Neyetalsperre nature reserve is located in the area of ​​the town of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The approximately 338.30 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 2013 , extends north of the core town of Wipperfürth. The state road L 284 and the B 237 run south of the area . The Bevertalsperre extends northeast with a water surface of 200 hectares.

The protection is placed for the preservation and development of large-scale, near-natural beeches typical of the landscape - deciduous forest communities at the Neyetalsperre with near-natural sieves - and spring habitats, including the reservoirs water areas as resting areas for water birds .
