The Wupperaue nature reserve is located in the area of the town of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia .
The approximately 124.30 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1985 , extends in two sub-areas north-west and east of the core town of Wipperfürth along the Wupper . In the western area, the B 237 runs on the southern edge, in the eastern area it runs on the northern edge. The Wipperfürth-Neye airfield is located on the northern edge of the western area .
