Steinhof ( East Franconian Schdāhūf ) is a district of the municipality of Saxony near Ansbach in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The Keferloh forest area begins southwest of the hamlet , a larger solar field is located in the south, and the Stritthoffeld is located approx. 0.5 km to the northeast .

history

Unlike all other places called Steinhof , the place name does not refer to a stony soil; the place name is derived from the surname of the builder, Johann Markus Steinbauer. The place was founded in 1845 by Ratzenzüge . In 1850, 1868 and 1870 three more houses were built. They were all in the parish of Ratzenzüge. On January 1, 1972, the municipality was dissolved as part of the regional reform. Steinhof was incorporated into Saxony with Ratzenzüge and the fulling mills .
