Sterling Moore (* 3. February 1990 in Antioch , California ) is an American American football poker players. In the National Football League (NFL), he last played for the Detroit Lions as a cornerback . Then he was with the Arizona Hotshots in the now-closed Alliance of American Football (AAF) and the Seattle Dragons in the XFL under contract.

college

Moore attended Southern Methodist University (SMU) and played for their team, the Mustangs, successfully college football , putting 59 tackles , scoring two sacks and preventing 18 passes in a total of 19 games . He also got two interceptions .

NFL

Oakland Raiders

Moore was not considered in the 2011 NFL Draft , but was hired as a free agent by the Oakland Raiders . He took part in the entire preparation, became a member of the Practice Squad before the start of the regular season , but was released at the end of September.

New England Patriots

In November 2011 he was signed by the New England Patriots . In his rookie season, he was used as safety in six games and was even able to score a touchdown . With his team he reached the Super Bowl XLVI, which was lost to the New York Giants .

Dallas Cowboys

On November 30, 2012, the Dallas Cowboys committed him , whose defense was weakened by a series of injuries, but Moore was only used occasionally. In the following season he played only five times, in 2014 he was used as a nickelback in all games.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

In 2015 Moore moved to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers , where he played all games of the season, seven of them as a starter

Buffalo Bills

In April 2016, Moore received a contract from the Buffalo Bills , but was released before the start of the season.

New Orleans Saints

A few days later he moved to the New Orleans Saints , where he replaced the dismissed Cortland Finnegan . With 56 tackles, 13 defended passes and two interceptions, he had his best professional season to date in 2016.

He was released at the end of October 2017, but was re-signed a month later after injuring himself in the Saints' defensive backfield . He was released in December 2017, but signed again after a week.

Detroit Lions

Moore joined the Detroit Lions on August 20 , but was released a few days later.

AAF

On January 17, 2019, Moore signed a contract with the newly formed Alliance of American Football (AAF). After the eighth day of play, the league was stopped for financial reasons.

XFL

Moore was drafted in October 2019 by the Seattle Dragons, a team from the new professional league XFL.
