Sticky Fingaz , real name Kirk Jones (born November 3, 1973 in Brooklyn , New York City , New York ) is an American rapper and actor . He is a member of the hardcore rap group Onyx .

Singing career

In 1991 Jones was included in the New York borough of Queens rap formation Onyx, in which his cousin Fredro Starr was already active. In 1993 the group released their debut album Bacdafucup , which became a commercial success and went platinum . With the first single, Slam , they were able to satisfy fans and critics alike and Jones, who appeared under the pseudonym Sticky Fingaz , was praised for his lyrics as well as for his loud, rough voice.

Since then, Jones has released four more albums with Onyx, as well as two albums as a solo artist. His debut album dates from 2001 and was called Blacktrash: The Autobiography of Kirk Jones , a concept album that thematized the fictional life story of Jones. His album was well received by the critics at the time, but did not come close to the commercial success of well-known artists such as Eminem , Raekwon , Redman or Canibus , all of whom were represented on his album. In 2003 he released his second album, Decade: "... but wait it gets worse" , which, however, received less attention than his first album. His third (and probably last) solo album is planned for mid-2008 (April / May). It is expected to have the title "A Day in the Life of Sticky Fingaz". And appear in parallel with his film of the same name. A soundtrack has been released for his film of the same name.

As Sticky Fingaz, he has also worked with various artists, including Eminem on his The Marshall Mathers LP and Snoop Dogg on No Limit Top Dogg , as well as Big Pun , Mobb Deep , DMX , Xzibit , Redman , Method Man , 50 Cent and Biohazard .

Acting career

Jones began his acting career in the mid-1990s with guest appearances in television series and films, before taking on major parts in television series through supporting roles. He played a supporting role in the action comedy Ride or Die - Go to Hell, Baby! from 2003. In 2006 he became known to a wider international audience with the male lead in Blade .
