The Subaru Exiga is a car model from the Japanese car manufacturer Subaru . From June 17, 2008, the seven-seater and five-door crossover SUV was only available on the Japanese market. The vehicle, available with front-wheel or all-wheel drive, is positioned between the Outback and the Tribeca and combines the properties of a sport utility vehicle with those of a van and a station wagon .
Visually, the production model is based on the concept vehicle of the same name, which was presented at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2007 . The air inlet on the bonnet, the side line rising slightly from the B-pillar, the black-clad D-pillar integrated into the window band and the two-part rear lights with LED technology are striking. The color of the interior is optionally beige or black in combination with inlays made of wood and aluminum. In addition, the roof console, storage compartments and the footwell are illuminated indirectly by blue LED light. An optional panoramic glass roof should guide enough light into the interior with the height-offset rows of seats.
A total of four equipment lines are offered:
- 2.0i, base model with front or all-wheel drive
- 2.0iL, front or all-wheel drive
- 2.0iS, all-wheel drive
- 2.0GT, top model with all-wheel drive, different radiator grille, side skirts and a roof spoiler
There are two boxer engines available for the Exiga . On the one hand, a 2.0-liter petrol engine with 109 kW (148 PS), a maximum torque of 191 Nm in conjunction with a four-speed automatic. On the other hand, a 2.0-liter turbo engine with an output of around 163 kW (222 PS) and a maximum torque of 326 Nm. The turbo engine is only available in combination with the 2.0GT equipment line and a five-speed automatic transmission.
