The Subaru Levorg is a mid-range automobile by Subaru that has been manufactured since 2014. The vehicle is based on the platform of the Impreza and the Legacy . This model replaces the legacy in Europe . While the Legacy is no longer offered as a sedan in Europe, but is still part of the Subaru model range in North America , Asia and the Middle East , the Levorg is also sometimes offered as the Subaru Legacy Touring or the Subaru Impreza Wagon in Asia and the Middle East .
The model name Levorg is derived from Legacy / Revolution / Touring. In Germany , the Levorg was introduced on September 26, 2015.
A characteristic feature of the Levorg is the air scoop on the bonnet, which supplies the intercooler of the turbo engine with air. The standard petrol engine from Subaru has 1.6 l displacement and four cylinders in a boxer arrangement . It has an output of 125 kW (170 hp) and is coupled with a continuously variable transmission. The automatic gear ratio selection can be switched off, then you can choose between six gears using the paddles on the steering wheel. A start-stop system is integrated as standard.
The front wheels are suspended from MacPherson struts and wishbones, and a multi-link axle is installed at the rear .
The vehicle has an anti-lock braking system , all-wheel drive , hill start assist , vehicle dynamics control , front airbags , side airbags , head airbags and knee airbags as standard . In addition, there are light and rain sensors, LED headlights, automatic air conditioning , reversing camera, disc brakes all around, light alloy wheels , radio with touchscreen, electric windows and a cruise control system as standard . The trunk holds 522 to 1446 liters, the tank 60 liters of fuel.
The Subaru Levorg has been offered with the so-called Eyesight system as standard in Germany since model year 2017.
For the 2018 model year, the Levorg received a minor facelift, including a modified front grille and new headlights, which now also include the daytime running lights in LED technology . The high beam is now also in LED technology and the low beam steers when cornering. The information display in the interior has been revised. This also shows the image of the newly introduced front camera. In addition, the rear seat can now be folded down in 40/20/40 instead of 40/60 parts. The continuously variable transmission has been given a seventh virtual gear.
A revised version of the Levorg was presented at the 89th Geneva Motor Show in March 2019. In order to comply with the Euro 6d-TEMP emissions standard in future , the turbocharged boxer engine was replaced by a 110 kW (150 PS) two-liter boxer naturally aspirated engine with manifold injection . Since the intercooler is no longer available, there is no air scoop on the bonnet.
A new, 6.5 centimeter longer version made its debut in Japan in the summer of 2020. Since a 1.8 liter turbocharged boxer engine is used again, the brand-typical air scoop on the bonnet is also used again. Due to the longer body and the wheelbase, which has also grown by 2 centimeters, more space is achieved in the interior and in the trunk, which increases to 561 liters. Sharper lines on the outside as well as the two 11.6-inch (infotainment) and 12.3-inch (digital cockpit) displays on the inside are new. According to rumors, the new unit could also be the basis for a WRX STi version. If there is a market launch in Germany, it will not take place before 2021.
