Sue Ane Langdon

Sue Ane Langdon (* 8. March 1936 as Sue look Hoff in Paterson , New Jersey ) is an American singer and actress .

Life

Langdon was born in New Jersey, but saw over a dozen other states in her childhood. When she was two years old, her father died; then her mother, a trained opera singer, hired herself as a singing teacher at various schools across the United States. Her mother also promoted her singing and acting career at an early age. After finishing school at the University of Idaho , she moved to New York City , where she sang at Radio City Music Hall . She began her acting career in the late 1950s, initially with television. Between 1959 and 1961 she played the recurring guest role of Kitty Marsh in the sitcom Bachelor Father with John Forsythe in the title role. She made her feature film debut in 1960 in a supporting role not mentioned in the credits in Strangers, When We Meet . The following year she had a bigger role alongside Tony Curtis in the comedy A Charming Impostor . In addition to a number of other series appearances, she was also seen in the Elvis Presley film King of Hot Rhythms . In 1966, she was photographed naked for Playboy .

In 1970 she appeared alongside James Stewart and Henry Fonda in the western Shot Is Shot From Midnight . Between 1970 and 1972 Langdon starred opposite Herschel Bernadi in the sitcom Arnie . Although this was canceled after the end of the second season, however, she received a nomination for the Golden Globe in the first year and was awarded the prize for best female supporting actress in the second year. In the late 1970s she played in the series Grandpa Goes to Washington , which was discontinued after seven episodes. The same fate befell the series When the Whistle Blows , in which she participated in six of the only nine episodes filmed. She last appeared in a motion picture in 1989 as the aunt of Weird Al Yankovic on UHF stations with limited hope ; The Crazy Eyed Guy II was only released on video in 1990.

Langdon is widowed. She was married to Jack Emrek between 1959 and 2010 and did not have any children.
