Suzanne "Sue" Casey (born April 8, 1926 in Los Angeles , California ; † February 21, 2019 there ) was an American actress who worked as a supporting actress and extra from 1945 to 2009 in over 85 film and television productions. Her most famous role was that of Sarah Wood Ling in Western - musical Paint Your Wagon from the year 1969th

Life

Sue Casey was born on April 8, 1926 in Los Angeles and grew up in Beverly Hills before moving to Hollywood with her family at the age of ten . She was discovered by a talent agent while she was still in high school and signed up after an interview. She played her first film role in Ball in the Embassy in 1946 .

Casey starred in well-known films such as The Double Life of Mr Mitty , The Window to the Courtyard or Breakfast at Tiffany's . Most of the time, however, only in small supporting or extra roles, most of which were not even mentioned in the credits. One of the exceptions is her appearance as Lady Sybil in the 1967 film Camelot - At the Court of King Arthur . One of her most famous roles named in the credits is that of Sarah Woodling as a film partner of John Mitchum in the western musical Westwärts der Wind von 1969. Casey played her only leading role in the 1965 horror film The Beach Girls and the Monster . She has also appeared in more than 200 commercials and in television series such as Smoking Colts and The Dick Van Dyke Show .

Casey remained active well into old age. Her later appearances include films like American Beauty and television series like Diagnosis: Murder . In 2009 she had her last role in the short film A Golightly Gathering . Casey then ended her career as an actress after more than sixty years. She died on February 21, 2019 at the age of 92 in her hometown of Los Angeles.
