Synnøve Thoresen Bolstad (born May 6, 1966 as Synnøve Thoresen ) is a former Norwegian biathlete .

Synnøve Thoresen has participated in world cup races since the first biathlon world cup in which women could also participate (1987/88). There she regularly achieved good results, especially in team and relay competitions.

Earlier in her World Cup career, she reached her only two World Cup victories in the Finnish Jyväskylä : a single victory in the sprint and a victory with the Norwegian relay team which together with Helga Øvsthus and Elin Kristiansen before Bulgaria and the Federal Republic of Germany won. She achieved her second best individual result at the World Cup in 1988/89 with a third place in the sprint in Steinkjer, Norway . She achieved silver at the 1989 World Cup and bronze at the 1991 World Cup in the team competition. Her best individual placement was a sixth place in an individual at the 1990 World Cup . At the national level , her victories came exclusively with relays, in 1989, 1991 and 1992, she entered the list of winners. Behind Mona Bollerud , she was Norwegian runner-up in the individual in 1989, and third in 1987 and 1991. In 1989 she was also second in the sprint, beaten by Anne Elvebakk . In total, she was five times second and six times third at state championships.

Thoresen Bolstad is married, lives in Vikersund and has four children, some of whom are active in junior biathlon.
