Judental valley bridge
The Judental Viaduct is a 456 meter long bridge on Autobahn 71 in Germany.
The structure is located at kilometer 145 between the Meiningen -Nord and Meiningen-Süd junctions and crosses the Judental, a side valley of the Hasel Valley, near Rohr . Two farm roads and a ditch are spanned with ten fields at a maximum height of 45 m. The floor plan radius of the bridge has, among other things, a turning clothoid with the parameters A = 500 and A = 700 as well as a subsequent circle radius of 2000 m. The longitudinal gradient is a constant 4.3% to the south. The overpass with two separate superstructures was built between 2000 and 2002 at a cost of around 9 million euros.
Foundation and substructures
With the exception of the north abutment with a flat foundation, the piers and the south abutment are built on large bored piles with a diameter of 1.2 m and lengths between 17 m and 27 m. The rectangular double pillars have a full cross-section and are between 25 m and 40 m high. The pier heads are connected to one another by bolts to accommodate the bearings .
Superstructures
The two adjacent superstructures of the prestressed concrete bridge are continuous girders with a box-girder cross-section and constant construction heights of 3.3 m. The prestressing consists of a mixed construction with internal and external tendons .
The spans for the 10-span bridge are 40 m + 46 m + 3x50 m + 4x45 m + 40 m.
execution
Seven sections of the bridge were built using the incremental launching method , with the cellar cellar at the north abutment. The remaining three fields with a length of 120 m were due to the bridge in the floor plan to be built Gegenklothoide on a falsework made.
