Tatyana Marisol Ali (* 24. January 1979 in Brooklyn , New York City , New York ) is an American actress and R & B - singer .
Life
Tatyana Ali is the daughter of Sonia Ali, a Panama- born nurse, and Sheriff Ali, a police officer of Indian descent from Trinidad and Tobago . She has two younger sisters and attended school in Bellmore, Long Island and Los Angeles . Ali appeared with Herbie Hancock in the children's series Sesame Street . She became known for the role of Ashley Banks in the sitcom The Prince of Bel Air . She had guest roles a. a. in The Bill Cosby Show , Mickey Mouse Club , An awfully nice house and horror, horror, goosebumps .
Ali, who began her vocal training at the age of seven, appeared in various episodes of The Prince of Bel Air as a singer. In 1998 she released her debut album Kiss the Sky . It was produced by Will Smith , the lead actor on the sitcom.
Ali supported the presidential candidacy of Barack Obama and was in the video Yes we can by Will.i.am to see.
