Terpe , Terpje in Lower Sorbian , is a district of the town of Spremberg in the Brandenburg district of Spree-Neisse .

Location and accessibility

Terpe is located about seven kilometers southwest of Spremberg directly on the Saxon state border and is connected to the city center via the B156 . To the east of Terpe is the Black Pump district with the power plant of the same name ; in the south-west borders the place Sabrodt , which already belongs to the Saxon community Elsterheide . The mining area of ​​the Welzow-Süd opencast mine extends northwest of Terpe .

history

Terpe was first mentioned in documents in 1569, an exact date of foundation has not been passed down. The village name is from the Sorbian word "terpik" for " Ortscheit derived". On August 5, 1959, the municipality of terpene was following a decision of the Spremberger Kreistages in Schwarze Pumpe renamed after the neighboring village that was originally only from the Terper Dorfkrug was, by the local Gaskombinat had grown strong. Terpe was henceforth a district of Schwarze Pump. On September 27, 1998, the municipality of Schwarze Pump was incorporated into the district of Terpe after Spremberg.
