Artistic Director
From 1969 to 1996 Wolfgang Unger headed the Thuringian Academic Singing Circle. From 1998 to 2007 Ilse Krüger-Kreile took over the management of the ensemble. In 2008 Jörg Genslein was elected the new head of TASK.
Organization and way of working
The choir is based in Saxony ( Leipzig ) as a non-profit organization . The singers, however, come from many parts of Germany to rehearse themed a cappella programs and perform concerts on a 10-day summer trip and five to six weekends a year.
The TASK follows as the Chamber Choir invitations to major music festivals such as the MDR Music Summer , the Leipzig Bach Festival , the Bach Festival of the New Bach Society , the festival European Church Music and the Bach Week in Ansbach .
The ensemble can also be heard regularly at unusual performance locations such as the Rammelsberg ore processing plant near Goslar or the Barbarossa Cave in Kyffhäuser.
In addition to cultivating a cappella music from all epochs of music history, TASK also performs as an oratorical choir under the direction of well-known conductors such as Peter Schreier , Roderich Kreile and Ludwig Güttler . a. the Bach Passions, Handel's Messiah , Brahms ' German Requiem and Robert Schumann's oratorio The Rose Pilgrimage listed.
The TASK concerts have already been recorded several times by radio and can be heard regularly on the radio in addition to the works recorded on CD.
organist
