action

On the way from Detroit to Daytona , a motorcycle gang seeks a workshop to repair a damaged chain on Hurley's Harley-Davidson . The action takes place in an undisclosed location in Georgia , USA, in 1959. Vance arrives first, he had previously helped a prostitute with a flat tire on her T-Bird and emptied her wallet in the process. He's waiting for the others at the Liberty Truck Stop. Augusta serves there. Vance starts talking to her, she says that she has been stuck here since her husband's death. Your boss Evie sees the rockers as a threat.

Then come La Ville, Davis and Debbie. Later, Ricky and Hurley arrive with the broken motorcycle . Vance rents the local workshop from John's father, Buck, where he meets Talena and gets Dixie beer and Thunderbird schnapps in a liquor shop for a black man. Talena tells Vance about her dead mother and father, her father's complicity in her mother's suicide is implied. Her father Tarver gave her a convertible . He can be seen in a short scene in the Schwarzensiedlung in which the father's illegal business is suggested.

Vance spends the afternoon with Talena at the Midway Motel . There they are surprised by Talena's father, who shoots the tires of Talena's 57 Corvette and takes them with him. A possible abuse by the father is indicated. The others drink and dance in the workshop, telling each other anecdotes from their mutual criminal past and playing with their jackknives before they practice target practice in front of the city. On the way back, Tarver and Talena meet them and Tarver drives the car into the ditch because the two of them are having an argument in the car. After Hurley repairs the motorcycle chain, he races against a redneck in the car, which explodes.

In the evening, the residents of the town meet the motorcyclists in the hotel lounge. Debbie has standing sex outside, while her boyfriend Davis is watching Augusta stripping. Tarver persuades his brother Sid to take action against the motorcyclists. He comes to the shooting when Talena shoots her father. She then shoots herself in her father's car. Vance is watching. Davis shoots the bar. At dawn, the motorcyclists leave the place.
