Parachutes was a German post-hardcore - band , which consisted 2002-2014.

history

After numerous concerts, among others with bands like Waterdown , And the Winner Is, That Very Time I Saw, The Coalfield , Three Minute Poetry, Diatribe , A Case of Grenada , Tribute to Nothing (GB), they toured with the befriended band Crash My DeVille for two weeks through Germany.

In 2005 the band signed a recording contract with the English label Lockjaw Records and shortly afterwards released their debut album And I Won't Stop Until You've Lost Everything You Ever Loved there .

After that the band was able to record further concerts with Silverstein , boysetsfire , Spitalfield , Aiden , The Hurt Process and Hand to Hand and many other bands. In 2006 two more tours followed through Germany and England.

In 2007 the band won the regional voting battle of the bands for the Taste of Chaos , which took place in the same year , where they played alongside internationally known bands such as The Used , Aiden and Rise Against .

In 2008, after the release of the second studio album Vultures , they toured all over Germany.

In May 2009 they toured Germany for the second time with their friends Alesana .

On September 25th, 2009 the third studio album The Working Horse was released , which was recorded in April and May. It was produced by Phil Hillen and Troy Glessner ( Underoath and Beloved, among others ).

On October 6, 2012, their concept album Blueprints , like the two previous albums, was released on the Redfield Records label.

On November 26, 2013, the band announced on Facebook that they would break up with a farewell concert on January 18, 2014 in the Kleiner Klub of the Saarbrücken garage (a location they often use). Since all tickets were sold in advance according to the allocation of seats, the concert was moved to the more spacious youth center in Försterstraße . After the opening act Against Remain , the Parachutes presented songs from their last three albums for an hour and a half. After the concert, the band sold (in addition to the remainder of the merchandise ) as a thank you to the fans, their stage banners typical of the music scene . The next day they published a download package on their homepage with all the free songs that had been released during the band's existence.

style

Their style is similar to many melodic and musically catchy well-known American post-hardcore bands such as Thrice or Alexisonfire . The band's sound is typically determined by the change between screamed and melodious-poppy vocals, built on faster, harmonious hardcore punk sounds.

However, the band itself also sees a lot of emo and screamo influences .
