The 1970 in the GDR donated Theodor Körner Prize was named after the poet Carl Theodor Körner named. It was awarded for outstanding achievements in the creation or interpretation of works of art that contribute to strengthening the defensive power of the GDR, and for special merits in the promotion and development of artistic creation and cultural activity in the National People's Army , in the border troops of the GDR and the other armed organs of the GDR.
