Theresia Wider

Theresia Wider (born April 21, 1937 in Reigersfeld , Upper Silesia , † February 17, 2012 in Potsdam ) was a German actress .

Life

Theresia Wider studied acting from 1955 to 1958 at the University of Film and Television "Konrad Wolf" in Babelsberg . She had her first theater engagement at the Theater Magdeburg , at that time still "Maxim-Gorki-Theater Magdeburg". From 1960 to 1965 she had an engagement at the Hans Otto Theater in Potsdam .

From 1958 she was also seen in numerous DEFA films and productions on GDR television. In the film Sommerwege , directed by Hans Lucke , which was never shown due to the ban of the SED , she played the leading role of the “daughter of the hero” in front of the camera. As a freelance film and television actress and voice actress , she played mostly supporting roles during her career. In roles of nurses, work colleagues and similar character roles, Wider proved to be a "disciplined ensemble actress".

After the political change in 1989 she returned to the theater and was on stage in the THEA Theater in Potsdam until 1997 .
