Thobias Fredriksson (born April 4, 1975 in Gunnersnäs ) is a former Swedish cross-country skier .

Thobias Fredriksson competed in the first international races back in 1993 when he took part in the Junior World Championships in Harrachov , Czech Republic . At the age of 18 he won the bronze medal over 10 kilometers in classic style and silver with the Swedish relay. The following year he won the relay silver again with the Swedish team in Breitenwang, Austria . In 1995 he won bronze over ten kilometers for the second time at the Junior World Championships in Gällivare . In the 1995/1996 season, the Swede took part in a World Cup for the first time, but could not yet keep up with the elite. Only two years later did he draw attention to himself with 13th place in the sprint. Thobias Fredriksson put his main focus on the sprint and also had great successes. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2003 he won the sprint title in Val di Fiemme , and in 2005 he won the bronze medal in Oberstdorf . In the 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 seasons Fredriksson also dominated the overall sprint classification, in 2005/2006 he came second in this classification. Another great success from Sweden is winning the gold medal at the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin. Together with Björn Lind , Thobias Fredriksson was unbeatable in the team sprint. He finished the individual sprint here in third place. Due to quarrels, Thobias Fredriksson separated from the Swedish Association in 2007 and has been training in a private team ever since.

His brother Mathias is also a successful cross-country skier.
